The gentle evening breeze on Qiushi Campus brushed away the dust of the old year, and the bright lights at Zijingang Campus wove the prologue of the new year. On the evening of December 31, 2025,  Zijingang Campus, Zhejiang University, witnessed the grand opening of the 2026 New Year Gala, a spectacular event exclusively for the ZJU family. Laughter and melodious music filled the air as all participants gathered to welcome 2026, praying for joy, peace and smooth progress in the new year. 

A highlight of the gala came with President Ma Yanming joining ZJU's dragon and lion dance team to stage the stunning performance Two Dragons Celebrate the New Year, Blessings Fill the Campus. To the stirring drumbeats, two golden dragons twisted and leaped dynamically, their vivid movements embodying the sincere wishes for Zhejiang University to forge ahead and gallop on a new journey in the coming year, with every stride brimming with vitality and hope for greater achievements.

ZJU students also shined brightly on stage with their wonderful performances, presenting a series of singing and dancing shows that were full of energy and youthful vitality, drawing enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience and making the whole stadium brim with the vibrant spirit of the young generation.
